Ken Rhodes

Ken Rhodes brings more than 30 years of coaching experience to the mountain — but what really sets him apart is the energy he brings to every single ski day. His enthusiasm for skiing is infectious, and he has a rare ability to make a day on snow feel exciting, positive and ridiculously fun.

A Whistler local, Ken competed in moguls nationally and internationally from 1986 to 1994 before moving into a long coaching career. He is a CSIA Level 4 facilitator and has also worked extensively in freestyle coach development, including as a master facilitator with the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association.

Ken’s coaching experience spans everything from recreational skiers to elite athletes. He has helped develop Olympic-level skiers with the Korean Ski Association, served as head coach of the Korean freestyle team, and has been involved with programs at Whistler Blackcomb, Freestyle Whistler, Freestyle Canada, Alberta Freestyle, WinSport and BC Freestyle.

That depth of experience makes Ken an exceptional technical coach, but his biggest strength may be the atmosphere he creates around him. He brings huge energy, humour and excitement to the mountain, and somehow manages to make people ski harder, learn more and have more fun at the same time.

For anyone joining Whistler Week, a day skiing with Ken is likely to be one of the days you remember most.
